Founded in 1999, Misra Records has earned an international reputation as a champion of creative pioneers. Michael Bracy, co-founder of the Future of Music Coalition, launched Misra alongside his younger brother Timothy Bracy (member of The Mendoza Line and The Paranoid Style) and Washington, DC-based attorney Paige Conner Totaro.
Phil Waldorf, current manager of Dead Oceans, sat at Misra’s helm from its founding until 2007. Cory Brown, owner of Absolutely Kosher Records, oversaw operations from 2007-2010. Leo DeLuca, of the Misra band Southeast Engine, managed the label from 2010-2015. Jeff Betten, former manager of Wild Kindness Records, began running Misra Records from Pittsburgh, PA in 2015.
