The Bird Hour officially formed in October 2016, but the members have been jamming with each other for close to a decade. Before leaving for separate colleges in the summer of 2012, Rowdy and Jacob wrote and recorded the album Chaos Week. While home on breaks from college Rowdy and Jacob, along with their best friends Alex and Isaiah, would hang out and jam deep into the night. A unique sound was developed through playing various covers and long, improvised “space jams,” as well as some original tunes. While developing his audio engineering skills Rowdy decided to rerecord Chaos Week, this time with the full band. Once all members had moved back to Pittsburgh, they decided to take the band seriously, diving into the Pittsburgh music scene and releasing the rerecorded Chaos Week. Following a couple of tours the Bird Hour recorded and released their follow up EP, Birds Fly South. With a music video, full-length album and tours on the horizon, The Bird Hour is flying strong.
